Margot Shang

I'm an MBA candidate at Harvard Business School (Class of 2027), incoming Summer Associate at Bain & Company, and a painter. Before HBS I spent four years at Ogilvy Consulting, where I built and globalized a consumer strategy methodology that became the firm's global standard, and collaborated on a commercial diagnostic tool linking employee performance and brand strength to financial outcomes.

I'm drawn to problems at the intersection of strategy, distribution, and systems — the kind that benefit from thinking across disciplines rather than within them. Right now that means building AI tools, thinking seriously about how early-stage companies go to market, and reading more than is probably healthy.

I grew up in the UK and US, studied Philosophy at Harvard College, and have been painting since I could hold a brush. The paintings on this site are mostly oil on canvas, with occasional forays into mixed media and collage when a subject demands it.
